Third Party Sources

WarnUS automatically retrieves data from the United States National Weather Service. The United States National Weather Service is a division of the United States Department of Commerce committed to supplying forecasts and life-saving alerts to the entire country. The United States National Weather Service's Terms Of Use states that users should request warning information, at most often, once or twice a minute from the United States National Weather Service servers. WarnUS's auto-updating functionality has been designed to accommodate this provision. Unless you, a friend, or a loved one, are in the path of dangerous weather conditions, you are asked to please set your refreshing interval to 1 minute or longer. The warning data retrieved by WarnUS is the property of the United States National Weather Service.
WarnUS utilizes the JavaScript API from ESRI to display interactive maps and to plot and handle warning polygon information. These functionalities are the property of ESRI.
While every effort is made to ensure WarnUS is as reliable as possible, WarnUS may function improperly if either of the above third party sources experiences problems or disseminates faulty data.

Product Usage

If you use WarnUS, you are requested to NOT manually refresh the page more than twice a minute. WarnUS automatically retrieves the latest data, thus there is no need to manually refresh the page. Furthermore, such careless behavior could overload, crash, or otherwise render inoperative the United States National Weather Service's servers. Not only would achieving such an end-result be viewed as a potentially criminal action, it could endanger the well-being of others, by depriving them of or delaying the transmission of critical and timely life-saving information. Your IP address may be blocked, by either WarnUS or by the United States National Weather Service, if you partake in such behavior. WarnUS and its author claim no affiliation, implicitly or explicitly, with the United States National Weather Service. The data supplied by WarnUS and United States National Weather Service is provided free of charge.
The information displayed on WarnUS is provided as is, and the end user assumes all risk involved. Neither the United States National Weather Service, WarnUS, or WarnUS's programmer will be responsible to the end user for any damages, injuries, losses, or deaths that arise from using WarnUS.
